  1. This is KPerfMon, by Kenny Leung.

  3. It's a neat performance monitor that tracks CPU, Memory, Disk, and
  4. Network resource utilization in it's icon.  If you get paranoid about
  5. what's going on with your system, get this and stick it on your dock.

  7. Version 1.1 changes:
  8. I've hacked this to compile under NeXTSTEP 3.0.  I also "fixed" a bug that
  9. caused KPerfMon to crash if the load gets too high.  I also hacked the nib
  10. to allow finer control of the poll time (mainly so I could have it update
  11. every half second).  I've documented all of my changes in the source...
  12. This version works:  I've been using it for several months without a crash.
  13. Don't leave it running for days it a time as it will eat a lot of VM.  I
  14. have been too busy to fix that.

  20. Version 1.2 changes:
  21. I tend to log in for about a week at a time, so the problem with this using up
  22. a lot of VM caused me hassles.  With some help via a tip from Tom McSorley I
  23. was able to use MallocDebug to track that problem down (initially KPerfMon
  24. wouldn't even run if the MallocDebug library was linked in with it).  After
  25. I fixed the memory problem, I went on to add options to govern which displays
  26. KPerfMon will switch between.  While I was there, I also fixed it up so the
  27. initial position of the sliders (in the preferences panel) were correct.
  28. Note that this version will not run under Release 2.x.
